Chester's Christmas Big Wheel
Although prevented from sampling the delights of the big wheel on the opening night due to high winds. The wheel stands as an interesting, if temporary, addition to the Chester skyline. Part of the "Winter Wonderland" Christmas feature, located in the Castle Square overlooking the river and the Grosvenor Bridge. The wheel takes its place along with an ice rink, children's rides, a santas grotto, bar and "Victorian Market".
Open from 11am-11pm weekdays and 10am-11pm at the weekend. The "Winter Wonderland" is due to remain in Chester until the 3rd January 2011. And is due to be a fixture in Chester's Christmas celibrations for the next three years.

- Chester Marathon 2011
The second Chester Marathon. Run from Chester Race Course into the city, across the Dee at the old Dee Bridge, through Huntingdon and out into the Welsh countryside. Back into England over the Dee at Holt/Farndon then back into Chester and the finish at the race course, via Sandy Lane and The Groves.
